Saturday night, we went to the luggage store to check out the art opening + music show. Here’s a “photo essay” taken on “mobile devices” of the show. (I forgot to charge my real camera’s battery. Really.)

First, Dominant Legs set up as a foursome with a bit of gear adjusting and tweaking that occurred occasionally throughout the performance. Guitarist Ryan Lynch and keyboardist Hannah Hunt harmonized sweetly. The band’s sound is a mix of David Bowie circa “Sound and Vision,” Fleetwood Mac during Rumour, and lastly topped with a hint of bossa nova. They ended the show with a toughed-up “Run Like Hell for Leather.”

Christopher Owens played a guitar medley, which ended with intertwined covers of MJ’s “Heal the World” and a bit of Charlie Chaplin.

Despite sound problems, Matt Fishbeck’s Holy Shit steamed the lofted room with fog, high-end guitar flicking, and weirdo sparkling VHS projections. Believers were not disappointed by the technical issues that held back the full force that could have been. “You Made My Dreams Come True” still cast its magical haze. Lacking synth and dealing with a blown out PA speaker, Holy Shit still held its spell.
