Blasted Canyons get loud at the Hemlock tonight (6/15) with Sacramento’s Fine Steps and Boom Bang, 9PM $6.

Blasted Canyons – the rhythm ridden trio will have their new LP for sale tonight! The much anticipated record is being put out by John Dwyer’s label Castle Face Records. Opening the show are the Fine Steps – a Sacramento super group consisting of former MAYYORS drummer Julian Elorduy, with two Ganglians: Kyle Hoover and Alex Sowles, plus a few young bucks. I got a chance to drop by the Fine Steps recording sessions at Tiny Telephone a few weeks ago, and the steps have some real magic. It sounds like a Ganglians and Mantles sweet baritone voiced love child – you’ll be excited, I promise. Oklahoma’s Boom Bang also play.

Song: Nodzzz // “Time (What’s It Going to Do?)”

Earlier this month, SF’s garage-pop trio Nodzzz released their second LP Innings (Woodsist). They haven’t played a show in San Francisco since the record came out, and I totally missed that Santa Cruz show with the Art Museums two weeks ago. It’s a good thing they play this Thursday (5/26) at the Hemlock Tavern. Catch them with Milk Music, and Doors US. 9PM, $7.

Note: The above graphic/poster shows a map of S.F.’s Tenderloin District. According to the Nodzzz blog, they’ll have a few extra posters for $3. Pretty sweet.

Video: Jonas Reinhardt // “Atomic Bomb Living”.

This oldie but goodie was directed by Heidi Petty of CatTrash. When it came out last year I was suddenly in a trance of wah-wahs and high-hats - totally stoked. They’ve recorded a bunch of new stuff, and even got space-disco guru Prins Thomas to do some production work - thank the internet! This week, Michelle interviewed Jesse Reiner for the SF Chronicle’s Bandwidth, take a read. Jonas Reinhardt plays Saturday at the Hemlock Tavern with Cloudland Canyon (Holy Mountain), and White Cloud. $8, 9:30PM
