Kickstarter for WAX IDOLS & TERRY MALTS Tour.
Being a band on the road is not always glamorous. There are so many costs: gas, food, tolls, laundry, plus so many things can go wrong: parking tickets, van repairs, gear repairs, resorting to hotels, and then add the pressure of getting from one venue to the other on time! You’d be surprised how often I hear of touring bands being paid $100-$150 a show, or hear nightmare nightmare promoters ripping bands off. Being a band these days is definitely a labor of love.
Our friends, Terry Malts and Wax Idols are planning a US tour and have launched a Kickstarter to cushion funds for their tour. It’s not a bad idea, hell, it’s a really smart idea. Please support their efforts, they’re both great bands plus they have lots of worthy treats in exchange. If they’re coming around your town, be sure to check them out (tour dates below).

A MALTED MIX FOR NIGHT FOG READER.
Corey Cunningham and Phil Benson of Terry Malts made us a mix! The San Francisco three-piece have been shredding up the local circuit for about a year. I’m Neurotic, the 7inch that dropped last April via Slumberland Records shows off the Malts’ scuzzy, loud, and catchy brilliance. I’ve been a personal fan these two music aficionados for years, so this mix comes as a special treat.

San Francisco’s Terry Malts like to keep it vague. They are the local mystery band made up of members of another SF band. This Thursday (6/2) they’re having a record release party for their “i’m neurotic” 7” (Slumberland Records) with support from local favorites Melted Toys - who are currently working on new material with Girls' Chet “JR” White, and Permanent Collection – the new project of former Young Prisms guitarist Jason Hendardy. It’s a bargain of a show. $3. Three Dollars. That’s right, THREE. It’s a bangin’ bang for your buck, so you shouldn’t miss it. 9PM at The Knockout.

YesYesYes presents Terry Malts + Wet Illustrated FREE at After Life this Judgment Day (Saturday 5/21) 8-10PM.
Okay, I know everyone keeps saying Judgment Day is coming May 21st, and if that really means that the Rapture is here, there is something you can be doing to show off your good will: Help YesYesYes reach their 2nd issue fundraising goal! What do you get out of it? A good feeling, and a free show at After Life with San Francisco’s Terry Malts and Wet Illustrated. YesYesYes are still short of their fundraising goal, so they want to rally up some support with a fun show. So bring your laundry change, don’t BYOB, donate, and help these pals out.
San Francisco’s Terry Malts make me feel like it’s okay to be crazy. Why not just bop my head around to fuzzed out guitar and accept it? That may have been too revealing, but hey their Distracted 7” is great and now available via Slumberland Records. It’s an early show so be sure to show up on time and not miss these guys.
Wet Illustrated are solid San Francisco pysch pop. They just played a show with R. Stevie Moore on Sunday, and what else? Their LP comes out on True Panther Sounds late summer. That’s solid, right?
@ After Life, 988 Valencia St. San Francisco, CA. 8-10PM Facebook Deets.
